Traffic Stops Scheduled Sunday Night (3/31) at New Gloucester Toll

Final preparations to take place for new E-ZPass only highway speed lanes

PORTLAND, Maine – Temporary traffic stops in both directions will take place Sunday night, March 31, as the contractor for the new E-ZPass only highway speed toll plaza at mile 67 in New Gloucester removes materials covering directional signs approaching the toll plaza. Occasional ten to fifteen minute traffic stops will take place between 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., weather permitting.

Crews will also be removing the both the northbound and southbound left lane closures, and opening the E-Z Pass only highway speed toll lanes at midnight, with assistance from Maine State Police Troop G.

The Maine Turnpike Authority reminds drivers to watch for signs directing motorists to the appropriate toll payment lanes and be aware of crews removing barrels, electronic message boards and additional project equipment in the hours following the opening of the new E-ZPass only highway speed lanes.

Visit MaineTurnpike.com for more information about the New Gloucester Toll Plaza and other Turnpike construction projects. Motorists can also sign up for travel alerts and incident notifications and follow the MTA on Twitter and Facebook.
