Overnight Traffic Stops Scheduled for Tuesday & Wednesday in Lewiston

Intermittent 25-minute traffic stops scheduled from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

PORTLAND, Maine – Overnight work on the Old Lisbon Road Bridge in Lewiston requires occasional traffic stops of up to 25-minutes in both directions near 82 for two nights this week between 10:00 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting.

The work will occur Tuesday night, August 20, and Wednesday, August 21 for crews to safely place structural steel beams for the replacement of the Old Lisbon Road Bridge which carries traffic over the Turnpike. The scheduled rain date is Thursday, August 22.

In addition to the overnight traffic stops, drivers can expect occasional single-lane traffic in both directions when traveling through the project area.

The MTA strives to keep drivers informed about planned Turnpike lane closures and travel alerts, but the possibility exists that unscheduled work may occur with short notice.
