Nighttime Ramp Closures for Pavement Work at Exit 42 and Exit 45
Motorists advised to seek and prepare to use alternate routes
PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority will implement temporary exit and entrance ramp closures from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. this week at Exit 42 (Scarborough) and Exit 45 (Maine Mall Road), weather permitting.
The following temporary closures are necessary to allow crews to safely complete pavement upgrades and are scheduled at night to minimize impact to traffic (maps on reverse):
Sunday, May 19:
- Exit 42 (Scarborough) northbound exit ramp from the Turnpike
- Exit 42 (Scarborough) southbound exit ramp from the Turnpike
Monday, May 20:
- Exit 42 (Scarborough) northbound exit ramp from the Turnpike
- Exit 42 (Scarborough) northbound entrance ramp to the Turnpike
- Exit 42 (Scarborough) southbound entrance ramp to the Turnpike
Tuesday, May 21:
- Exit 42 (Scarborough) southbound exit ramp from the Turnpike
- Exit 45 (Maine Mall Road) northbound exit ramp from the Turnpike
Wednesday, May 22:
- Exit 42 (Scarborough) northbound entrance ramp to the Turnpike
- Exit 45 (Maine Mall Road) southbound exit ramp from the Turnpike
The Turnpike Authority reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit approaching work zones and plan for extra time to safely reach their destinations through alternate routes.
