Maine Turnpike Authority Statement on Sunday Evening Traffic Incident

Sunday evening crash claims one life

PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority offers its heartfelt thoughts and condolences to the family and friends affected by the unfortunate traffic incident Sunday evening. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of first responders, including other motorists, MTA employees, emergency response crews and the Maine State Police.
The incident remains under investigation and all further information will be provided by the Maine State Police and the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The safety of everyone on the Turnpike is always our top priority and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure all motorists arrive safely to their destinations.
