Exit 52 Southbound Off-Ramp to Falmouth Spur Reopened

Ramp was closed in May for major bridge repairs

PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority has reopened the southbound off-ramp to Exit 52. The off-ramp was closed in May to conduct major repairs of the 60 year-old bridge which carries southbound traffic off the Turnpike to the Falmouth Spur.

The $3.5 million Turnpike project, completed by CPM Constructors of Freeport, consisted of repairs to the Exit 52 Falmouth Spur Interchange Bridge, which included increasing the bridge under clearance, repairs to the bridge’s steel superstructure, partial replacement of the concrete bridge deck under the pavement, and replacement of the bridge railings. Some construction-related activities will continue near the bridge in the coming weeks.

The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates the patience and understanding of those who rely on the interchange and does not take the issue of ramp closures or project delays lightly.
