Executive Leadership Strategic Coordinator

The Maine Turnpike Authority (MTA), Maine’s Gold Star Memorial Highway, is seeking an Executive Leadership Strategic Coordinator to support the Executive Director and C-Suite leadership team at its Portland, Maine headquarters. This position provides strategic, operational, and administrative coordination to advance organizational priorities, improve communication, and support executive initiatives.


The Coordinator serves as a liaison between executive leadership and departments, coordinating strategic projects, organizational initiatives, leadership reporting, and process improvement efforts. The role supports executive briefings, Board materials, project tracking, asset management coordination, reserve maintenance tracking, and cross-department collaboration.


Key responsibilities include monitoring strategic initiatives, maintaining dashboards and reports, supporting organizational communications, coordinating administrative functions, and assisting with workflow improvements that enhance operational efficiency. The position also supports employee engagement efforts, change initiatives, and consistent administrative practices across the Authority.


Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Communications, Management, or a related field, along with five years of progressively responsible experience in executive support, operations, administration, project coordination, organizational management, employee relations coordination, or a related field. Candidates should have experience supporting executive leadership teams, strong organizational and project coordination skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.


Preferred qualifications include experience supporting engineering, infrastructure, transportation, public sector, or operational organizations. Additional preferred experience includes asset management coordination, asset management planning, capital planning, reserve maintenance tracking, engineering/finance coordination processes, reporting dashboards, document management systems, organizational and project management software, and workflow automation or process improvement initiatives.
Executive Leadership Strategic Coordinator Job Description

The position is classified at a Range 18, $86,466 to $142,376 commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental insurance, retirement plan, health reimbursement account; paid vacation and sick leave, and 13 paid holidays.
