Maine Turnpike Authority is seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources to lead strategic workforce initiatives that strengthen organizational performance and employee engagement. This executive role oversees all HR funtions-including recruitment, labor relations, compensation, compliance, and organizational development-while fostering a fair, respectful, and high-preforming workplace culture. Ideal candidates bring proven HR leadership experience in the public sector, strong knowledge of employment and labor law, and a collaborative, data-informed approach to managing people and programs.
Qualified candidates must have a Master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Public Administration, Business Administration, Labor or Employee Relations, or a related field, with at least 10+ years of progressively responsible human resources management experiene, preferably in a public-sector and union environment. Professional HR certification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate expert knowledge of employement laws and regulations, exceptional communication and leadership skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems such as ADP.
