Temporary Route 1 Ramp closures to begin next week for bridge work

Route 1 off ramp to close on 9/12 and Route 1 on ramp to close 9/21
 

KITTERY, Maine -  Beginning at 6:00 AM on Monday, September 12, 2022, the Route 1 off ramp (Ramp J) located at mile 1.5 on the Maine Turnpike will be closed for pavement replacement and bridge work. The closure is expected to last approximately 28 days and the ramp is scheduled to reopen by Monday, October 10, 2022.  During this time, a signed detour will be in place. This project is part of a larger construction contract awarded to CPM Constructors of Freeport that includes work in two other locations that will take place next year.  More information about these projects can be found on the Maine Turnpike website. 

Beginning at 4:00 AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the Route 1 on ramp (Ramp H) located at mile 1.6 on the Maine Turnpike will be shut down for bridge deck repairs and pavement replacement. This closure is also expected to last 28 days with the ramp scheduled to reopen by Tuesday, October 18, 2022.  During this time, a signed detour will be in place. This project is part of a larger construction contract awarded to New England Infrastructure of Hudson, Massachusetts that also includes work to the Route 236 Bridge that will take place next year.
