Exit 48 Southbound ON Ramp to be Closed June 4 through June 9
All other Exit 48 ramps will be open
PORTLAND, Maine-Starting at 6:30PM on Sunday, June 4, the Maine Turnpike (I-95) southbound ON ramp of Exit 48 (Westbrook) will be closed. It will reopen by 6:30PM on Friday, June 9. Drivers are asked to use Exit 47 (Rand Road) during this time. This closure is necessary to reconstruct the on ramp to accommodate widening the road to three lanes.
When the southbound on ramp closes Sunday, all other Exit 48 ramps will remain open.
Stay tuned to MTA’s social media and on road variable message boards for any updates as all work is weather dependent. The southbound off ramp is scheduled to be closed for 5 days starting on June 11.
This work is part of the Portland Area Widening project, adding a third travel lane in both directions from mile 46 to 49. This project was awarded to Shaw Bothers of Gorham, Maine and it is anticipated to be complete in this fall.
