Exit 46 Southbound Off Ramp to be Closed July 11 through July 15

More ramp closures are anticipated this summer

PORTLAND, Maine – Starting at 12:01 AM on Monday, July 11^th, the Maine Turnpike (I-95) southbound off ramp at Exit 46 (Jetport) in Portland will be closed. The closure will end by 12:01 AM on Saturday July 16^th. This 5-day ramp closure is necessary in order to reconstruct the ramp, including culverts and drainage infrastructure. The ramp will be paved and striped. Drivers are asked to use Exit 45 in South Portland (Maine Mall Road) during the closure.

In addition, the Exit 47 northbound off ramp will be closed July 18^th through July 21^st. This work is part of the Portland Area Widening project, adding a third travel lane in both directions from mile 46 to 49. The project was awarded to Shaw Brothers of Gorham, Maine and it is anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2023.

Variable Message Boards are in place alerting drivers to the upcoming closures. All of the work is weather dependent. Drivers are urged to check the variable message boards and the MTA’s social media for updates.
