Southbound Departing Ramp at Exit 32 in Biddeford Closed Tonight

10:00 PM on Thursday, April 12 to 5:00 AM on Friday, April 13

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Beginning at 10:00 PM tonight, there will be an overnight closure of the southbound departing ramp at the Exit 32 Interchange in Biddeford on the Maine Turnpike.  The closure is expected to last from 10:00 PM on Thursday evening, April 12th, until 5:00 AM on Friday morning, April 13th.   The closure is necessary to ensure motorists safety while construction crews to install of traffic control measures on the Biddeford Interchange Bridge.

This closure is part of a $2.7 million construction project, awarded to Scott Construction Corporation that includes work on two bridges and the pavement adjacent to the Exit 32 Interchange in Biddeford.  The work at the two bridges includes Route 111 Underpass Bridge and the Biddeford Interchange Underpass Bridge.  The work at the Route 111 Bridge includes deck repairs, expansion joint replacement and substructure repairs.  At the Biddeford Interchange Bridge, the work includes pavement rehabilitation, deck repairs, expansion joint installation and end post replacement.

In addition to new wearing surfaces on both bridges, the project includes pavement rehabilitation at the interchange, including all ramps.  In order to complete the work safely, there will be additional, periodic ramp closures.  These ramp closures will occur during off-peak travel (10:00 PM to 5:00 AM).  VMS boards will alert motorists to any ramp closures days in advance.  All ramp closures are subject to change and weather permitting.

For more information on this project, please visit the project page on the Maine Turnpike website.
