Bruce A. Van Note
Commissioner Bruce A. Van Note is an engineering graduate, an attorney and a professional land surveyor. He was born in Houlton Maine, one of six children, and moved to Bath at a young age, where he attended public schools. He holds degrees in engineering and law, both with honors. Bruce has 25 years of professional transportation work experience in Maine, including 20 years at MaineDOT. His MaineDOT experience included 12 years as Deputy Commissioner, during which time he managed most aspects of the department. Most recently, he served as the Director of Policy and Planning at the Maine Turnpike Authority. Van Note lives in Topsham with his wife, Susan. They have four adult sons. His interests include family vacations, everything about Maine, a never-ending home renovation, hiking, and the 13-time World Champion Green Bay Packers.
