Park and Ride Lots

The Maine Turnpike Authority maintains Park and Ride parking lots at many of its exits. These maps show the locations and configurations of the lots.

  • York

    • Located on Chases Pond Rd near Exit 1.
    Capacity: 26 vehicles

    • Located at the Wells Transportation Center, across route 109 from Turnpike.
    Capacity: 100 vehicles

    • Located on Route 35 near the southbound toll plaza.
    Capacity: 52 vehicles

  • Exit 32, Biddeford

    • Located on Route 111; after exiting the Turnpike take a right. This lot is served by the ZOOM bus.

  • Exit 36, Saco

    • Located on Industrial Park Road; after exiting the Turnpike take Exit 1, at the end of the ramp take a right. This lot is served by the ZOOM bus

    • Located between Payne Road and the entrance to the Maine Turnpike.

    • Located by the toll plaza on Turnpike Spur.

    • Located near the Southbound Toll Plaza.

    • Located at the intersection of the Westbrook Arterial and Larrabee Road; from the toll plaza, take a left onto Rand Road Extension to the light and the lot is across the intersection.

    • Located between Route 100 and Turnpike Entrance

  • Exit 63, Gray

    • Located on Route 202. From the Turnpike, take a left at the light onto Route 202. The lot is on the left.

  • Exit 75, Auburn

    • Located between Routes 202/100 and the entrance to the Turnpike. It is also accessible by Route 202.

    • Two lots located on Alfred E. Plourde Parkway.

    • Located between Routes 126 & 9 and the Turnpike Entrance.

Maine Turnpike Park & Ride lots are for commuter use only for 24 hours or less. Trucks & RV’s, except for pick-ups, are not allowed. Vehicles parked for longer periods, left abandoned or otherwise in violation of this policy are subject to being towed. For more information please call 871-7701.

ZOOM Turnpike Express Bus

A comfortable, convenient, and fast way to commute from Biddeford/Saco to downtown Portland. ZOOM is a commuter bus service that is operated by ShuttleBus and is partially funded by the Maine Turnpike Authority and the Maine Department of Transportation.

The Biddeford/Saco to Portland is the busiest stretch of the Maine Turnpike. There are many commuters who drive in single occupancy vehicles from Exits 32 and 36 to Portland. ZOOM offers these people an alternative to get to work with out many of the hassles that come with driving alone.

Riders are treated to a luxurious ride to and from work. The buses are equipped with individual reading lights and air conditioners so you can read, do work, or nap during your commute! Even with all these comforts, the cost to ride the ZOOM is most likely the same or less than driving alone to work. A monthly pass can be purchased for $58 and individual rides can be purchased as well. Once you add up gas money, wear and tear on your automobile, and parking, the ZOOM makes good economical sense.

ZOOM Turnpike Express stops are located at Exit 36 (Saco Park and Ride), Exit 32 (Biddeford Park and Ride) and at the following METRO bus stops in Portland:

  • Forest Avenue near Congress Street (nearby connections to Maine Medical Center shuttle)
  • Congress Street near Monument Square
  • METRO Pulse on Elm Street (downtown)
  • Forest Avenue in front of World Over Imports (near USM)

GO MAINE

GO MAINE is a free commuter assistance program of the Greater Portland Council of Governments and is funded by the Maine Turnpike Authority and the Maine Department of Transportation. It provides services to commuters who live, work, or travel through Cumberland and York Counties. Commuter services include:

  • Carpool and vanpool matching using a computerized database of commuters and commuter information
  • Carpool support, including Emergency Ride Home, regular US Savings Bond drawings, and other Ridesharing incentives
  • Commuter information and referrals on regional transportation options through our toll free number: 800-280-RIDE and website: GOMAINE.org
  • Commute Another Way Week, an annual event to promote and facilitate alternative means of commuting to work including carpooling, vanpooling, transit, bicycling, walking, and telecommuting
GO MAINE also offers the following services to area employers and communities:
  • Assistance with travel demand management issues such as parking and congestion
  • Outreach and education on the benefits of alternative transportation in improving air quality and reducing traffic congestion
