PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority reminds travelers to monitor local weather forecasts and expect slow moving traffic or even significant delays during the impending winter storm.

Motorists can receive up-to-the-minute and detailed winter travel alerts and incident reports by calling 1-800-675-PIKE and by visiting “Maine Turnpike Authority” on Facebook or @MaineTurnpike on Twitter. It is important to look for the officialMaine Turnpike Authority Facebook page which includes the Turnpike logo.

The Maine Turnpike Authority urges drivers to use hands-free phone options and to steer clear of texting or checking messages while driving. Leave plenty of time to reach your destination safely. It’s not worth putting yourself and others in a dangerous situation just to be on time.
