Turnpike Traffic Stops Scheduled Tuesday Morning in Lewiston
Tuesday morning traffic stops needed for overhead utility work
PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority advises motorists traveling past Lewiston on Tuesday morning, January 22 to plan for intermittent traffic stops of up to 20 minutes between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Maine State Police will occasionally stop northbound and southbound traffic at mile 81 in Lewiston for the relocation of utility lines without jeopardizing motorist or worker safety.
The work is weather sensitive and may be delayed or rescheduled. Motorists should be prepared for trip delays or seek alternate travel routes. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of traffic stops, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers.
The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding.
