Turnpike Suspends Construction Projects For Holiday Weekend

Urges caution and awareness while driving

PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority has suspended highway construction work for the July 4th holiday weekend. Turnpike officials, however, urge travelers to observe posted speed limits, maintain proper distance between vehicles, avoid distracted driving and be alert for signs and traffic shifts when traveling through dormant construction zones.
Motorists can check, or call 800-675-PIKE (7453), 24/7 before traveling for updated traffic information and possible incident alerts. Updated information is also available by following the MTA on Facebook or Twitter. Emails travel alerts are also available through online signup. is smartphone-friendly.
