Overnight Traffic Stops Monday & Tuesday at Mile 70 New Gloucester

25-minute traffic stops in both directions between 10pm and 5am

PORTLAND, Maine – Overnight work on the Snow Hill Road Bridge in New Gloucester requires occasional traffic stops of up to 25-minutes in both directions at mile 70 for two nights this week between 10:00 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting.

The work will occur Monday night, August 12, and Tuesday, August 13 to allow crews to safely place structural steel beams for the replacement of the Snow Hill Road Bridge which carries traffic over the Turnpike.

Motorists should be prepared for trip delays or seek alternate routes. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding and urges drivers to use caution when approaching work zones to ensure they reach their destinations safely.

In addition to the overnight traffic stops, drivers can expect single-lane restrictions in both directions through the work zone between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.

The MTA strives to keep drivers informed about planned Turnpike lane closures and travel alerts, but the possibility exists that unscheduled work may occur with short notice.
