Overnight Stoppages to Occur on Alfred Plourde Parkway April 1 & 2

25-minute stoppages on Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2 for removal of structural steel

PORTLAND, Maine – Beginning Wednesday evening, April 1, 2015, 25-minute traffic stops will occur in both directions on Alfred Plourde Parkway in Lewiston for the removal of structural steel on the Maine Turnpike southbound overpass bridge.  Stoppages are scheduled to occur for two nights: Wednesday, April 1, 2015 and Thursday, April 2, 2015.  A series of 25-minute stoppages will occur each night between 10:00 p.m. and will last until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

All work is weather dependent. Monday, April 6th is reserved as a back-up date in the event on inclement weather.  Motorists should prepare for delays or seek alternate travel routes during the stoppages. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.
