Overnight Stoppages at Mile 99 for Placement of Structural Steel

25-minute north and southbound stoppages Monday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 4

PORTLAND, Maine – Beginning Monday evening, August 3, 2015, traffic stops of up to 25-minutes will occur in both directions in Litchfield at Mile 99 on the Maine Turnpike for the placement of structural steel at the Lunts Hill Road Bridge.  Stoppages are scheduled to occur for two nights: Monday, August 3, 2015 and Tuesday, August 4, 2015 with Wednesday, August 5, 2015 reserved as a rain date.  A series of up to 25-minute stoppages will occur each night between 10:00 p.m. and will last until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

All work is weather dependent.  Motorists should prepare for delays or seek alternate travel routes during the stoppages. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.
