Overnight Stoppages at Mile 56 Northbound in Falmouth Monday Night (12/8)

5 to 20-minute northbound stoppages Monday night, December 8, 2014

PORTLAND, Maine –  Monday evening, December 8, 2014, intermittent traffic stops of up to 20 minutes will occur northbound on the Maine Turnpike at Mile 56 in Falmouth for repairs to one of the Piscataqua River Bridges.  A series of 5 to 20-minute stoppages will occur between 7:00 p.m. and will last until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.  All work is weather dependent.  Tuesday, December 9, 2014 is scheduled as an alternate date in the event of inclement weather.

Motorists should prepare for delays or seek alternate travel routes during the stoppages. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of stoppages, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.
