Overnight Stoppages at Mile 56 & Mile 55 Southbound

Series of 5-minute stoppages Wednesday and Thursday night (8/26-8/27)

PORTLAND, Maine – Beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night, August 26, 2015 a series of 5-minute traffic stops will occur on the Turnpike mainline going southbound in Falmouth at Mile 56 and 55 for the setting of bridge beams.  The stoppages are scheduled to occur between the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. for two nights: Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27, 2015.

All work is weather dependent.  Motorists should prepare for slight delays. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.
