Nighttime stoppages on Turnpike mainline scheduled for this week

Exit 44 Ramp to be closed tonight (12/3) from 10 PM to 5 AM with mainline stoppages
Intermittent closures at Exit 75 southbound on and off ramps on Wednesday evening (12/5)

PORTLAND, Maine – Beginning at 10:00 PM tonight, December 3, 2018, traffic stops of up to 25-minutes will occur northbound in Scarborough at mile 44.2 on the Maine Turnpike for the placement of overhead sign structures.  A series of up to 25-minute stoppages will occur tonight between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM the following morning.  In order to erect the sign structure, the Exit 44/I-295 northbound on-ramp will be closed tonight between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM the following morning.  Traffic will be detoured to use Exit 45 during the ramp closure.

On the evening of Wednesday, December 5, 2018, there will be intermittent closures of the Exit 75 southbound on and off ramps in Auburn for the installation of overhead toll systems equipment. The closures are scheduled to occur between the hours of 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM.  The closures will be up to twenty minutes in duration. Motorists should use caution when approaching this area.

All work is weather dependent.  Motorists should prepare for delays or seek alternate travel routes during the stoppages. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures and detours, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.
