Lisbon Road Bridge in Sabattus Closing for Repairs Beginning 9/29

Bridge will be closed to traffic for approximately 3 weeks

PORTLAND, Maine – Beginning on Monday, September 29, 2014 the Lisbon Road Bridge in Sabattus will be closed for repairs.  The closure is expected to last for approximately three weeks.  The work consists of adding a new bridge wearing surface, deck repairs and concrete repairs to the substructure.

The signed detour route during bridge rehabilitation will redirect traffic to Jordan Bridge Road, to Middle Road and to Crowley Road. The detour as signed is approximately 7 miles. The Lisbon Road Bridge carries approximately 1,500 vehicles per day over the mainline of the Maine Turnpike.

Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.

Lisbon Road Bridge is the last of four bridges included in the $938,746 project, awarded to Scott Construction Inc. of Falmouth.  The project consists of bridge and culvert repairs in various locations which also include Falmouth, Lewiston and Gray.
