Exit 52 (Falmouth Spur) Southbound On-ramp Closing Tonight (Wednesday)

Closure necessary for time-sensitive pavement work

PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority will close the southbound on-ramp at Exit 52 for traffic entering the Turnpike from the Falmouth Spur tonight at approximately 7:00 p.m., for time-sensitive pavement work.

The ramp closure will allow crews to safely and effectively apply new pavement to the Exit 52 Interchange Bridge over the Turnpike in response to current weather forecasts calling for upcoming rain, snow and freezing temperatures.

The pavement work is expected to last until approximately 2:00 a.m.

The MTA advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destination by alternate routes. The work zones and approach roads will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage.

Motorists are encouraged to visit smartphone friendly MaineTurnpike.com for up-to-the-minute travel alerts or sign-up to receive them by e-mail. The MTA also provides timely updates and other helpful Turnpike information on Facebook and Twitter. The MTA strongly urges drivers to keep their eyes on the road and only check travel information before leaving or by stopping at one of its 5 service plazas.
