Emergency Utility Pole Repairs Require Turnpike Detours

Northbound and southbound traffic affected between Exit 52 & 53 (Falmouth)

PORTLAND, Maine – The stability of utility poles and power lines have been compromised near the Blackstrap Road Bridge between Turnpike Exits 52 and 53 in Falmouth. Crews from Central Maine Power are on site assessing the damage and determining what repairs will be necessary.

Maine State Police Troop G will be forced to temporarily detour traffic off the Turnpike in both directions to ensure worker and motorist safety while repairs take place.

Portable electronic message boards are in place near the work area to alert drivers of upcoming work.

The Turnpike Authority urges motorists to watch signs for detour information, stay alert, reduce speeds approaching the area and plan for extra time to safely reach their destinations through alternate routes.
