Early Morning Traffic Stops Monday in Lewiston
Twenty minute stoppages planned for utility line relocation at mile 80.5
PORTLAND, Maine – The Maine Turnpike Authority will conduct intermittent northbound and southbound traffic stops of up to 20 minutes at mile 80.5 in Lewiston between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28. The traffic stops are needed to relocate utility lines without jeopardizing motorist and worker safety. The work area is two-tenths of a mile north of Exit 80 in Lewiston
The work is weather sensitive and may be delayed or rescheduled. Motorists should be prepared for trip delays or seek alternate travel routes. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of traffic stops, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers.
