Cable Crossing to Force Stoppages at New Gloucester Toll Friday

Multiple 10-minute north and southbound stoppages Friday, September 26th

PORTLAND, Maine – On Friday, September 26th between 9:30 AM and 12:00 PM, 10-minute stoppages will occur in both directions in approach of the New Gloucester toll plaza to allow Central Maine Power to safely install lines across the highway. The utility crossing itself will occur at Mile 68.  The stoppages will be intermittent and trooper assisted.

Motorists should allow additional travel time and be prepared to stop during any stoppage. Message boards will be in place to inform approaching travelers of closures, and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts on 1610 AM will also be used to inform drivers. The Maine Turnpike Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding during this construction.
